Solar Program Saves Homeowners On A New Roof

Take advantage of this solar and roofing program! By adding solar as part of a roofing solution is a great way to pay for a new roof because you can roll the cost of replacing your roof into the tax credit. Let’s do the math.

Say your roof installation is $20K, and your solar installation is also $20K (actual costs are going to vary, of course; this is just an example). In essence, you are spending $40K for a new roof that with solar not only adds even more value to your home, but lowers your energy bills.

Plus, you get a 30% tax credit* for including solar, so you get back $12K towards the roof + solar installation cost—which means you're only spending $28K on a new roof paired with solar.

And that’s before figuring in any local government or utility rebates!

Here’s another situation. Say you need to replace your roof as a result of storm damage. Your insurance provider should cover the cost of the roof replacement ($20K). Subtract the $12K tax credit for installing solar at the same time, and your $40K roof paired with solar only costs you $8K.

Roof + Solar = Win-Win

This is why TruHome Pros believes pairing solar and roofing is a win-win. However, not every situation is suitable for solar. If solar isn’t right for you, we’re still happy to work with you to install, replace, repair, or maintain your roof. Because what’s best for your house, and your budget is always top-of-mind with us. If you live in Illinois, Wisconsin, or Michigan, then schedule your inspection or talk to one of our roofing and solar experts today.

TruHome Pros Roofing Services

Experienced TruHome Pros roofing professionals work with you to make decisions that provide the best outcomes for you and your family. The cost to replace a roof varies depending on factors such as the age of your roof and the extent to which there is any major damage not just to the roof but the underlying structure beneath it.

Roof Replacement: Why You Shouldn’t Wait

Have you ever thought of having your roof replaced? If it is more than 15 years old, it may be time to start considering our roofing services in Illinois. However, you should not go to just any roofing company as there are a few things you will need to keep in mind when it comes to selecting the best roofing company for your specific set of needs. There are an abundance of reasons as to why you should seek out the assistance of a professional rather than attempting to take on the project yourself and we would love to bring some of them to your attention.

TruHome Pros roof inspection determines if a new roof is warranted or if we can repair the roof to extend its usable life. At the same time, we take accurate measurements of your roof to provide an accurate quote for our roofing and solar services.

Another good time to consider roof installation or repair is if you're thinking of installing solar panels on your home. You're wasting your money on solar panels if you don't also have a good roofing foundation.

Roof Repair: Because Stuff Happens

Regular roof maintenance is likely to uncover the occasional minor repair. Caught early enough, such repairs avoid more serious problems. Minor roof repairs usually involve patching small leaks, replacing missing or damaged shingles and/or other roofing materials, repairing flashing and resealing around skylights and/or chimneys, fixing punctures, holes, or cracks.

Major roof repairs include structural fixes to correct problems created by water damage, mold growth, or shrinkage. If damage is significant, part or all of the roof may require replacement.

Storm Damage: When Weather Damages Your Roof

We seem to be getting a lot of bad storms these days. And extreme weather such as high winds and hail can damage your roof.

Fortunately, your homeowner’s insurance typically covers most damages. We work with your insurance company to quickly repair or even replace if needed a storm damaged roof.

TruHome Pros frequently works with insurance companies on storm damage roof repairs, so we can get a roof over your head as soon as possible. Done right the first time around.

Roof Maintenance: Ensures Longer Life and Performance

Keeping in mind that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. TruHome Pros also offers maintenance services to keep your roof in optimum condition and your solar panels at top efficiency.

Regular roofing and solar maintenance involves removing debris, inspecting and repairing any damages, ensuring proper drainage, and cleaning solar panel surfaces. Regular maintenance avoids future costly repairs and extends the life of your roof and your solar panels.

Going solar is a big decision and not cheap however not as expensive as I thought. Keep in mind when making this decision you will pay off the solar panels, but you’ll never pay off your electric company! With the world going green eventually you’ll be paying for solar from your electric company anyway. From the beginning everyone has been very professional and friendly. Never once did I feel pressured into making the decision to go solar. Every question I had was not only answered but answered so that I could understand it. I highly recommend!

Working with Remy & his TruHome Pros Team was an incredible experience. Their exceptional attention to detail, ability to assess our needs, address our concerns, and provide a top notch service was greatly appreciated! Remy sat with us while we discovered what Solar could do for our family & showed us renderings of what the exact system could look like for us right then and there. Now we have just completed installation and see it is just as slim and sleek as described. The installation team was great & worked quickly while neatly installing everything. Highly recommend working with this team if you get the chance!

TruHome Pros successfully activated the solar panels and made me believe that there are good and honest companies that will sincerely help you feel good about spending money for the right reason. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Robert Koson, the salesperson with TruHome Pros. As he mentioned in our initial meeting, he would be there every step of the way, and he kept his word. Thank you, Robert.

I kept seeing these ads for government assistance solar program, so I decided to look into it and get some more information. TruHome came out, Pete the rep explained everything very thoroughly the process of how it works. They had a very impressive technology, and came prepared with a generated imaging of what would work best for our home. If you are looking to go solar, definitely go with truhome. they explain the whole process show you what government programs or savings you could have with the solar panels, generate all the numbers for you all, potentially what your energy bill would look like down the road. Basically they walk you through every single step of the process. They even have an app, if you have any solar panels that are down you can put an order in for somebody to come out and get them fixed. The whole solar experience is pretty amazing.

Absolutely. Say you are spending $40K for a new roof with solar. You get a 30% tax credit* for including solar, so you get back $12K towards the cost of the roof + solar installation—which means you’re only spending $28K on a major upgrade. And that’s before figuring in any local government or utility rebates for installing solar!

Secure metal racks or frames for the solar panels are mounted on the roof using bolts or screws. Electric wiring and conduits are installed to connect the solar panels to an electrical junction box or inverter, which converts the solar panels’ direct current (DC) energy produced into usable alternating current (AC) energy.

Then the solar panels are placed and fixed onto the mounted racks using clamps or brackets. These panels are interconnected using cables, which are connected to the electrical junction box or inverter. The inverter connects to the main electrical panel of your home.

Once the solar installation is complete, your solar panel system is thoroughly tested to ensure proper functionality and safe operation.

Illinois’ average cost of a solar panel installation ranges from $13,600 to $18,400. On a cost-per-watt ($/W) basis, a solar panel installation in Illinois ranges in price from $2.72 to $3.68.

The average cost of a solar panel installation in Wisconsin ranges from $14,195 to $19,205. On a cost-per-watt ($/W) basis, a solar panel installation in Wisconsin ranges in price from $2.84 to $3.84.

The average cost of a solar panel installation in Michigan ranges from $14,875 to $20,125. On a cost-per-watt ($/W) basis, a solar panel installation in Michigan ranges in price from $2.98 to $4.02.

Keep in mind these are only averages; the cost of your solar installation depends on a number of factors, including the condition of your roof, the size of your roof, and your home’s orientation to the sun.

* Estimates based on information provided by EnergySage.

While solar roofs, solar roof tiles, and solar roof shingles have their own advantages, such as aesthetic appeal and integration into existing structures, they are often less efficient and more expensive compared to solar panels.

Solar panels provide for more flexibility in installation, making them more suitable for a range of applications and locations. Solar panels are also more weather-resistant and durable and have a relatively low cost per watt of installed capacity compared to other solar technologies. In addition, solar panels have been on the market for a longer time and have undergone significant advancements in technology and manufacturing processes.

Absolutely not, as long as they are installed by an experienced roofing and solar contractor such as TruHome Pros.

It depends on the age, quality, and overall condition of your existing roof. We can guide you on whether it is more cost-effective to install a new roof as part of your solar installation.

Solar panels can extend the life of your roof to a certain degree. By providing shade and protection from the elements, solar panels shield your roof from harsh weather conditions such as direct sunlight, wind, hail, and rain, all of which may cause damage over time.

However, the installation process may involve drilling holes in the roof and adding penetrations for the wiring, which could compromise the roof’s integrity if not properly addressed. TruHome Pros’ proper installation techniques minimize any potential risks to your roof and ensure a normal lifespan.

A south-facing roof with little to no shading is best for solar panels. Roofs that are structurally sound and have a slope between 15 to 40 degrees are ideal for efficient solar panel installation. Tile, asphalt, and metal roofs are commonly used for solar panels, although any type of roof can usually accommodate solar panels with proper installation.
